After raising the kids and selling the family business, my husband and I fell in love with and purchased an old dairy farm in the "Icebox of Connecticut". Shortly after moving in, we bought a germinator ( who had ever heard of one of those before?) and began to optimistically plant hundreds of organic heirloom tomato seeds.
Since that time we have nurtured and sold thousands of pounds of gorgeous, delicious, organically-grown tomatoes, and also learned so much about growing and preserving many different kinds of foods. There is nothing more satisfying than being able to concoct a healthy, farm-grown meal in the middle of the winter! Unless it is the ability to be more in touch with the cycle of the seasons; more connected to the rhythm of nature. We and our two dogs love our life here on the farm, and we'd like to share it with you! |
